Ah I didn’t notice the dates on it. Still, she got all of her facts straight as far as who is who with respective links which is great. A lot of people were under the assumption that everyone at the Tillicum show worked for the Lego company so it’s good that clear information is out there.

I had to comment on the scrimporsplurge.ca article as they said the event is this weekend coming up (March 16-18) when it fact it was last weekend.

I believe that this is the figure that Matt Ashton, one of the designers, was referring to in the last BrickJournal magazine. He was talking about a fig that was an in-joke based on his Canadian friend.

I’ve seen him referred to online as Redneck (first announcement through BB), Logger, Canadian, Lumberjack, Woodsman etc.

I expect LEGO will again sidestep the issue and call the Inuit figure “Arctic Tribal Fisherman” or some such.

There is also the Inuit You could argue he might be from Alaska, or that he’s exclusively First Nations, but he’s definitely not an Eskimo, though I guarantee that’s what everyone will call him.
